What To Do This Year 2014?

List of to do's in 2014 - Our Rosey LifeI saw this list on Pinterest and I liked it.  It’s not about resolutions.  I don’t do resolutions.  In my mind, it’s a list of “to dos” for 2014.  As a family, we answered the questions and it was fun (and sometimes surprising) to hear each person’s answers.  Without further ado… I’ll share my answers::

Bad habit::  Prioritize and stay on task.  I have so many things I want to accomplish each day.  Some days I find myself somewhat frenetic.  Have you read the children’s book If You Give a Moose a Muffin (great book by the way)?  As the story goes, if you give a moose a muffin, he’ll want some jam.  And if you give him some jam, his fingers will get sticky and one thing leads to another and he comes full circle back to a muffin.  For me, I start to put the cereal bowls in the dishwasher and see the hairbrush and pony ties need to go upstairs.  I’ll start upstairs and see the bed needs to be made.  I’ll make the bed and notice a towel on the bathroom floor.  I stop making the bed to take the towel to the laundry room… and pass through the kitchen and see the cereal bowls still on the table.  Ugh!  I want to prioritize my to dos, finish the task at hand and then move to the next.

New skill::  I’d like to learn to use the manual mode to improve my pictures and design printable graphics.

Be more like::  I’d like to adopt Mr. Rosey’s goofiness.  He’s full of joy and fun (even when he has a hard day) and doesn’t sweat the small stuff.  I want to play more with our Girlies.  Big Sis M said she wants to be herself and not anyone else.  Amen Sister!  I like it.

Good deed::  I’d like to do a day of random acts of kindness.  Little Miss C said she’d help Mom and Dad.  Alleluia to that one!

Place to visit::  Any national park.  I think this would be a fantastic family vacation and there are so many beautiful spots in our country.  Mr. Rosey said Hawaii.  Heck yes!

Book to read::  Allegiant by Veronica Roth.  Gratefully, Santa left it under the tree for me.  I read the first two books (Divergent and Insurgent) in the series and I loved them.  The story is set in Chicago.  What’s not to love about Chicago?

Letter to write::  I’d like to send out birthday notes to family and friends this year.  Birthdays are special and I want to acknowledge each one.

Food to try::   Steamed artichokes with drawn butter.  I see artichokes in the summer and they look glorious.

Be better at::  Taking time to just sit and relax.  And making magic this year.

So that’s the list for 2014.  What answer would you give to one question?  I’d love to know.
