Girlie Pink Hot Chocolate

Girlie Pink Hot Chocolate | Our Rosey Life

Our Girlies L-O-V-E hot chocolate, especially Little Miss C.  Sometimes I think she’d drink it every day during the wintertime, if… I let her.

For the past two days, school was cancelled because of the bitterly cold weather and the pleas for hot chocolate were plentiful!  I wanted to switch up my regular hot chocolate recipe, so I decided to try using white chocolate chips.

And to make it a little more girlie, I added a couple drops of pink food coloring.

It was a resounding hit!  I got the “Mom of the Year” award for this girlie pink hot chocolate recipe.

Of course, you can add any food coloring you like or just leave it white.  But of course, if you have little girls…. go for the pink!

Girlie Pink Hot Chocolate

Recipe type: Drinks
Serves: 4 mugs

Girlie Pink Hot Chocolate | Our Rosey Life A fun twist on the traditional hot chocolate made with white chocolate chips.
  • 4 cups milk (I use skim)
  • 2 cups of white chocolate chips (12 oz. bag)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • Several drops of pink food coloring (can also use red)
  • Whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinkles – optional

  1. In a small saucepan, warm the milk on medium low until bubbles begin to show around the perimeter of the saucepan.
  2. Turn off the heat.
  3. Add the chocolate chips and whisk until melted.
  4. Stir in vanilla, salt and food coloring.
  5. Pour into mugs and add whipped cream, marshmallows and/or sprinkles.

Because I make hot chocolate ALL the time, this is a lower fat version for our family. If you want a creamier, thicker girlie pink hot chocolate, cut down the milk to 3 cups and add a cup of heavy cream.
