Magic at Home:: A 31 Day Series

Magic at Home - 31 day series | Our Rosey Life

Yep.  I’m doing it again.  This will be my third year.

I’ll be honest with you.  I think I’m crazy for doing this again.  Writing for 31 days straight – on one subject – is hard.  Some days, around day 14, it just sucks.  And yet, to reach day 31 and know that I have thoroughly explored and lived with and dreamed about and questioned and pondered one subject is immensely gratifying!

So yep.  I’m doing it again!  This year my theme is…

Magic at Home – finding the everyday magic in life

At the beginning of 2014, I chose one little word to represent my year.  The word for me was magic.  To be completely honest (again), I’ve thought about the magic in my life but I don’t think I have truly explored it and lived with it and dreamed about it and questioned it and pondered it to any real degree.  I want to do that and by doing so, encourage you to do the same thing.

To me, the magic at home is about the normal, every day, seemingly inconsequential moments that happen.  Those which we sometimes take for granted and yet, they are special and magical.  This month, I want us to stop and see and appreciate those normal every day moments.  Those magical moments we make each day are the ones worth remembering and rejoicing.

I don’t have a clear picture of what this 31 day series will look like.  Ok.  That’s a little frightening, because I AM a planner.  I have no plan.  I just decided on a whim TODAY to give this a go again.  When I wrote for 31 days in 2012 and 2013, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to do each day.  Not so much this go around.  It’s a little bit stressful to be unprepared AND yet a little bit freeing.  I’ll just see what happens each day – a funny story, an encouraging word, a delicious recipe, a festive fall craft, a home decor idea, a pretty picture, something that makes me sad – I’ll just go with it and see what magic happens.

I encourage you to do the same… appreciate the simple, magical moments each day and make some magic happen!

This year I’ll be linking up with The Nester at Write 31 Days and Kate Motaung at 31 Days of 5 Minute Free Writes.  At both sites, you’ll find many other people writing about every subject under the sun for 31 days.  Each has a unique approach to writing and I’m sure you’ll find an inspiring topic or two to read for the month.  Kate has a word prompt each day and I’m sure I’ll use those as inspiration and a jumping off point on some days.

I’m so excited to explore and live with and dream about and question and ponder Magic at Home.  Thank you for joining me on this journey for the next 31 days.  I hope you and I find some Magic at Home together!
